We Are Reducing Membership Fees!

We are very pleased to announce that the SAIT Students’ Association (SAITSA) will be lowering our membership fee by $10.00, beginning in the 2016 – 2017 academic year.

SAITSA’s Strategic Plan identifies the importance of organizational sustainability by increasing sources of non-dues revenue and focusing on the reduction of the SAITSA Membership fee. As part of this commitment, SAITSA’s Board of Directors voted to freeze our membership fee for the 2015/2016 year, and tasked SAITSA’s Finance Committee with developing a financial strategy to reduce our reliance on membership fees.

In doing this, the Finance Committee has been able to decrease the annual membership by $10.00. This is important in response to current economic conditions, in saving money for SAIT students and as part of our focus to reduce our overall reliance on student fees. While this decrease may seem small, it removes $150,000 from SAITSA’s operating budget.  SAITSA has been able to achieve this by rectifying budget inefficiencies and exploring additional revenue opportunities, all without impacting our current service levels.
