There is diversity in culture, city planning, resources, and in access to whatever you want to do whether that’s going to the mountains, the prairies, or the Badlands!  

Perfect Weekend

In the summertime, it’s camping and simply getting outside to kayak, canoe, etc.! In the wintertime, it’s a lot of running around for my children’s hockey practices.


I’m from rural Alberta! I’ve lived in Calgary for thirteen years!

I lived in the UK for a couple years, before coming back to Calgary! 

Happiest Place

My down times at home. I enjoy those Sundays that I can sit and have a cup of coffee, sit with my cats, and chat with my family.

Wellness Coordinator 

How long have you been at Saitsa?

I started my position in the middle of August 2021.


What do you enjoy most about your job? 

Helping students in the alternative student experience with SAIT. My position is within the Saitsa Student Experience team, so this includes providing services, benefits – including the Student Health & Dental Plan, as well as the wellness aspect of the student experience.  

What is your education and work background? 

I have a degree in political science from the University of Alberta! In terms of my work background, I recently have been working in wellness and accessibility/disability services in my previous position at Olds College. I’ve been navigating towards a career in post-secondary adult learning and advising. 

Why did you choose to work for Saitsa? 

A lot of the fundamentals of the organization spoke to me. Saitsa’s background in providing services solely for the benefit of students is one thing that’s very important to me.

What advice do you have for new SAIT students? 

Take time to look into the services that are available to you! The type of wellness programs and benefits we now offer at SAIT are quite new for not just us, but many post-secondary institutions. When new students have their first week of school, go to orientation and learn everything there is to know! 

Why should students get to know Saitsa? 

We can be a voice for students. Students visiting Saitsa to chat and taking the time to learn what we offer is beneficial. We have volunteer opportunities, clubs, and where we are in the Campus Centre is a go-to place for general information!

Health & Dental Process for Fall 2021

As of July 5, 2021; Saitsa will be accepting Health & Dental Opt-Out forms for the Fall 2021 semester. As soon as you are registered or begin self-registration for the Fall 2021 semester you are able to submit a Health & Dental Opt-Out form.

You have until July 26 to send your completed Health & Dental opt-out form to Saitsa for processing before the tuition fee deadline in order to receive Opt-Out credits before paying tuition fees. All other Health & Dental opt-outs processed after July 26 will follow SAIT’s refund policy where credit balances may be applied to future terms.

SAIT Refunds: Credit balances, for students who are registered or plan to register in a future term, will be carried forward and applied as appropriate to that future term.  Refundable balances will also be assessed at the end of the academic year for refunding. More info here.
