Academic Council

Call for Students! Saitsa Board of Directors are looking for 2 students to join SAIT’s 2021-2022 Academic Council.


Academic Council is a recommending body to the SAIT Board of Governors that meets on a monthly basis from September 2021 to May 2022.


What does the Academic Council do?


  • Review academic plans, priorities, standards, admission requirements and standards, new program proposals, and graduation requirements
  • To review student’s needs, evaluation methods, grading systems, and student support services
  • To review institutional matters, including strategic and tactical planning processes, missions and mandate statements, policies, and trends in education and the economy
  • To facilitate institutional-wide communications

  • To build onto your co-curricular record
  • To learn more about SAIT Academic and Institute Regulations
  • To be the student voice on academic issues
  • To build on your resume
  • Allows you to take on leadership opportunities


Students who sit on Academic Council must be currently enrolled as a student for the Fall 2021 and Winter 2022 semester.

*In the interest of creating a diverse group of student representatives, candidates will not be contacted until closer to the application deadline. Successful candidates will be contacted as soon as possible and are asked to attend their first Academic Council meeting on January 11, 2022.
