Since 1926, SAIT students have turned to The Weal (officially known as The Emery Weal) for information about what’s happening on and around campus.
The paper is published from September through April and distributed every Thursday at more than 25 locations on campus and at 50 off-campus locations throughout the city. Two full-time and 11 part-time employees keep their ears to the ground to keep you informed.
Volunteers are an extremely important part of The Weal. We’re looking for photographers, reporters and illustrators to contribute to the paper. No experience? No worries: we’ll provide you with all sorts of resources to help you navigate the exciting world of student journalism.
And if you’re not interested in reporting the news, you can still share your tips and feedback with us. We appreciate getting the heads-up about important stories on campus and we love to receive your letters (whether peppered with praise or cut with criticism). It’s as simple as sending an email, dropping by or giving us a call.
