Adam McAlonan – School of Construction
I am in my second year of EDDT (Engineering Design and Drafting Technology) and love SAIT. This is my second year being on SLC and I hope to make it an even better one. Goals you can expect me to be striving for are electoral reform, a revamp of SAITSA’s marketing, better parking, and creation of a daycare program. Feel free to approach me with any of your concerns. In closing I would like to wish everyone a great stay at SAIT, keep rocking!

Zaheed “Big Z” Khan – School of Hospitality and Tourism
My name is Zaheed Ali Khan, born August 23 1986, in Calgary Alberta. My whole life I dreamt that I was unstoppable, you ever have that dream when your flying or when you just won’t die? My goal is to educate people on how we as individuals can change the world. ”LOVE EVERYONE ALWAYS” — this is my motto. Live by it and you will be happy! I guess you can call me the runt, but don’t let my size fool you because dynamite comes in small packages. I believe in love at first sight, and that there’s more to life than you and me, I believe in a future that we can change for the better. Past: born with thalessemia majour. At present: I’m just your representative. In the future: I will be in space. It does not matter who you are, what you did, where you come from, as long as you believe in a idea, the sky is the limit or not I’m going to space.

Joshua Murdoch – MacPhail School of Energy
Joshua Murdoch is stoked to be a part of the new Student Legislative Council. He chose to attend SAIT for the Power and Process Operations program to gain a better knowledge of the oil & gas industry and to obtain his 4th Class Power Engineering certificate. He moved to Calgary in the summer of 2008 to attend Mount Royal University and through his program learnt lots about taking presence and taking charge, two qualities that he feels will help as a SLC member. He looks forward to the position and knows this year, will be a great year.

Amy Pruneau – Information & Communications Technologies
You do not have to be unhappy to want to make a difference in your environment. Impact is pivotal in everything you do; it betters the way you perceive your environment, one manageable step at a time. This is the reason I ran for SLC, I want to make a difference in the biggest community I belong to because I care about our lives as students and our relationship with our school. I also want to increase involvement in our student government. Why not lead by example?
My first goal as your SLC representative for ICT is approachability; I want my peers to feel comfortable alerting me to an issue they feel is affecting their life as a student. I want to be a voice for SAIT students, the school of ICT, and every underrepresented program. My greatest goal for all future election is to help all of us students become more involved in our government.

Mladen Rakic – School of Transportation
Hello, thank you all who voted for me during the elections and I hope I will be able to live up to your expectations as the representative of the School of Transportation. I wish to put more effort into lobbying our government to try and decrease or get rid of some of these ridiculous fees that they charge us! I believe with this we are able to take the first step, in making a difference in our lives today, because “I dream for a better tomorrow, one where chickens can cross the road and not have their motives questioned.”
