CAROLINE MACKENZIE

Everyone knows your life as a student will be all about long hours spent studying, writing exams, soaking up knowledge from amazing instructors and preparing group projects. Not if I can help it! Of course, working hard is important. But so is playing hard. You can maximize your time at SAIT by joining or starting a club.

Students often build clubs in relation to their programs, such as the Global Passport club for Travel and Tourism students. As a member of this club, I spent invaluable time with my peers. When you’re part of a club, you connect not only with fellow students, but often with industry professionals and potential employers, as well. Plus, it’s fun! Thanks to club perks like use of the Gate and Odyssey for functions, SAITSA clubs have hosted cool events such as concerts, fundraisers, industry events and even a Rock, Paper, Scissor tournament.

Come see me at the Campus Centre in V204 if you want to join a club or start your own. And please have as much fun as you can while you’re here. Take in shows at the Gate. Sign up for a ski and snowboard trip. Or give me a shout with your own ideas about how to make student life better.

Remember: you’re not only here to make good grades, but also awesome memories!
