GOOD FOOD BOX
The Good Food Box provides fresh fruit and vegetables at a student friendly price on a monthly basis. The boxes come in three approximate sizes – 20 lbs. for $15, 30 lbs. for $20 and 40 lbs. for $25.Boxes must be ordered and pre-paid in person at the SAITSA Resource Centre office (MC107). Orders are placed once per month by the order date below and can be picked up the following week (see pick up date below). Boxes not claimed by 4:30 pm on the pick up date will be given away. If you’re short on change for the payphone, come to the SAITSA Resource Centre during our office hours to use our free phone to make local phone calls.
PHOTOCOPYING
81/2″ x 11″ paper, black and white only. Cost is 10 cents/page. If paying with a SAITSA One Card, cost is 5 cents/page.
FAX SERVICE
Local incoming or outgoing faxes are $0.50 each. Faxes within Canada are $1.00 per page and international faxes are $1.50 per page. If you need a fax sent to you, have your name clearly indicated on the fax and have it sent to (403) 284-8143. SAITSA will hold your fax for up to 2 weeks for you to pick it up at your convenience.
MICROWAVES
We provide free microwaves for you to use in the Heart Atrium, Senator Burns Rotunda, E.H Crandell Building, Clayton Carroll Building (3rd floor), DC Building and the Thomas Riley Building (main floor). If you experience any problems or find a microwave with a nasty mess, please make sure to email the Student Services Centre at saitsa.centre@edu.sait.ca.
EMERGENCY STUDENT CONTACT PROGRAM
This service will allow all students taking courses on the SAIT main campus to be contacted in class or lab in the event of an emergency. This will include student parents, legal guardians, and all forms of students that may have dependent(s). SAIT students can leave their course schedules and contact information with the Centre. SAITSA will then have you contacted in your class to let you know there is an emergency. This service is free of charge. Students will be contacted for emergency purposes only. All information provided by students is protected under the Canada FOIP Act and is kept strictly confidential. LEGAL GUIDANCE CLINIC
In partnership with the Calgary Legal Guidance Clinic, SAITSA offers an opportunity once per month for students to gain advice from a professional lawyer on personal legal issues. Appointments must be booked in advance by students through the SAITSA Resource Centre. An information form must be filled in and approved by the CLGC. Come in to MC107 today to see if we can help you! Please note that the lawyer will not represent you in your case, but will give you advice on how to proceed only. Stop by to fill in a form to ensure that your legal needs are within the categories that we can assist. If they are not we may be able to refer you to another local service. Please check www.saitsa.com for fall and winter semester dates.
